MILK at the OSCARS!!!

The 81st Annual Academy Awards presented a golden statuette to Sean Penn for Best Actor in a Leading Role, recognizing the depth and strength behind his portrayal of Harvey Milk in MILK. In the movie, Sean Penn plays the title character, a camera store owner whose decision to campaign for a place on San Francisco's Board of Supervisors becomes a landmark event within the gay rights movement.

The movie also garnered a win in the writing category, with a nod for Best Original Screenplay. Hopefully the accolades for this important movie continue, as it provides a realistic look at the struggles faced during the height of the gay movement.

Superheroes have problems just like us!

I don't quite remember cartoon superheroes being so...well gay, but this goes to show that even those lovable-toons can have fashion emergencies too. Enjoy!
