Chromeo is Pee Thug and Dave 1: best friends since their adolescence, virtuoso musicians, walking hip hop encyclopedias, and the only successful Arab/Jew partnership since the dawn of human culture. After three years since the release of their second studio album, Fancy Footwork, jet setting, globetrotting, and embarking on an overall sensual conquest of planet Earth, Chromeo is back with album number three Business Casual set to be released in August and a tour playing Flames Central on Tuesday, August 10.

While not much has been revealed about the new album, they have revealed that Solange Knowles lends her voice to “When the Night Falls” and Cassius member and Phoenix producer Philipe Zdar mixed the disc. And in true Chromeo fashion, they will bring out everyone from the teenage lovers, to the 20 something blogpoders, to the 30 something burn-out ex-raver graphic designers, to the 40 something cougars together all to party under one roof.

Chromeo is slick. Chromeo is dripping with reverb. Chromeo is Moog riffs, luxurious harmonies, macho guitar solos and real-deal songcraft. From the dancefloor-ready singles Fancy Footwork and Tenderoni, to the autobiographical Jew-boy ballad Mommas Boy, to the epic sax-laden 100%, Chromeo rolls you through a sleek, melodic world where all you need to worry about is whether youve got your sunglasses on and the right moves to keep up.

Calgary Stampede - Quiet Oasis Among the Crowds

The 2010 Calgary Stampede has brought the midway thrills and rodeo excitement that everyone looks forward to each year, but for those that seek a brief getaway from the crowds and the sun, look no further than the Western Oasis. Conveniently located in the BMO Centre in a separate section from the many vendor booths, this area brings a level of sophistication and culture to those out for an Urban-Chic Cowboy experience.

Take in some of Canada's finest western art on display, and chat with the local and visiting artists as they proudly showcase their work. OUTLOOKS stopped at the Wine Garden, where manager Stephen Welch detailed selections from over 20 varieties of Canadian and International wines. The wine specialists on hand offer great suggestions based on your preferences. One of our favorites is the Hardy's Stamp Series Riesling Gewürztraminer from Australia, with honey tones and backed by a slight spice and zing.

Sip a glass of wine, enjoy the art, get friendly with the living statues, dance to the Waltzing Waters show, and play a guessing game with the Speed Artist before heading back into the craziness of the midway for that extra corndog and crack at besting Whack-A-Mole. You'll thank us!
