Flatter Rather Than Fatter

GEARING IT UP FOR SUMMER

Need a quick way to get rid of that winter blanket? Here are a few tips on how to loose that extra bitta' somthin' you may have 'collected' over the long winter months...

As we get older, we tend to concentrate less on exercising, and keeping slim than we do on delicious cuisine and between meal munchies. Everyone loves a good meal at their favourite restaurant, and can't seem to find that extra ten minutes in the morning before work to prepare a low-cal lunch. You could spend two hours of your life rigorously exercising to burn off a measly 300 calories, or you could spend five minutes eating that delicious dessert on the front page of your lunch menu only to suck back twice the amount!

Try some of these tidbits of advice and write in to let us know how you're doing

Before you even notice, the amount of calories you can SAVE will make your waistline smaller and your hips VANISH!

As Far As Breakfast is Concerned:

- Instead of a cappuccino, try some espresso!
- Try an omelet with 4 egg whites instead of 2 whole eggs
- On your bagel, try the non-fat cream cheese
- Throw out the Jams and marmalade and try something more real like home made or market fresh fruit spreads
- Eat more oatmeal! It holds you over longer and naturally lowers your cholesterol
- Buy milk with a lower fat count; (instead of homogenized, try 2% and so on) that way you're not drinking directly from the udder!

Lunch Time:
- Instead of mayo, try some extra mustard
- Make it turkey instead of beef
-Forget the cream-of soups..try something with more variety like minestrone!
- home made KD!? Just cut out half of the butter the taste will stay the same but the guilt will be gone
- Downsize your soda! Or drink juice
- Believe it or not, those fries at Wendy's have less calories than a baked potato
- Instead of Chips, Try Pretzels!

- if you want to slip and have the juicy burger from your favourite fast- food joint, at least get salad instead of french fries!

Happy Eating! Enjoy our helpful tips to get you on your way to a flatter stomache with less stress
